First Gen Society

First-Gen Society is a student organization at UConn that welcomes all first-gen students across class years, majors, and other interests. This organization creates a sense of belonging within the first-gen community at UConn with a variety of events such as pizza parties, arts and crafts events, community yoga, and more!

Alpha Alpha Alpha First-Generation Honor Society

UConn established a chapter of the Alpha Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for First-Generation College Students in 2020. Also known as Tri-Alpha, this honor society is exclusively for first-generation college students whose grades demonstrates their academic achievements at UConn. Tri-Alpha encourages first-gen students to excel in their academics and to network with fellow first-gen students, and faculty or staff members who are also part of the organization as honorary inductees.
